As the world gradually recovers from the activity restrictions imposed due to the global pandemic, employees worldwide are slowly returning to the workplace. While working-from-home has become the new norm, offices and other workplace premises still cannot be done away, but are our workplaces ready and safe for employees to return?Buildings, being where we spend the majority of our time in, have key roles to play in safeguarding the health and wellbeing of its occupants. Worldwide, building-based prevention and control measures have become one of the most important methods of fighting against the effects of the pandemic. In this special webinar, join us as we take a look at how our buildings can prepare for the resumption of work and the new business as usual.

This course covers topics rarely covered to any great extentat undergraduate level. The emphasis is on hand-based methods. They can be used directly for design, or for the checking of computer-based designs. The course provide an alternate design method of equal difficulty to conventional procedures; it will be found that many problems can be tackled surprisingly easily using these powerful methods. The methods are an aid to understanding. Many work examples are presented showing how the various methods can be used. The emphasis is on the use of the methods for practical problem solving.

The built environment, responsible for more than a third of global carbon emissions, is in a prime position to address climate challenges through low-carbon and net-zero building principles. The World Green Building Council (WorldGBC)s Advancing Net Zero (ANZ) project aims to consolidate and catalyse action across the globe, and highlight leadership action in total sector decarbonisation. Through a combination of thought leadership and direct intervention action, the global project aims for buildings to be Net Zero Energy by 2030 and for all buildings to be Net Zero Carbon by 2050.In this 3-part webinar series, hear perspectives on going net zero from different stakeholders in the built environment value chain, the possible pathways towards net zero and how challenges can be addressed.A roundtable discussion with the WorldGBC ANZ team will be held after the 3rd webinar session to help translate notion into action and for the WorldGBC to share about the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment. Registration for the roundtable is complimentary, and separate from the webinar registration and will be shared once finalised.
