The Construction sectors WSH performance has shown improvement since the introduction of Implementing WSH 2018 for the Construction Industry Sector in Singapore in 2010. The fatality rate has dropped from 8.1 per 100,000 workers in 2009 to 5.5 per 100,000 workers in 2014. However, to make a lasting and long-term change, we need to create a mind-set of prevention throughout the entire Construction ecosystem. WSH Council launched the Vision Zero movement at the National WSH Campaign 2015 with the message, I can prevent all injuries and be healthy at work. Embracing the Vision Zero movement, this BCAA-IOSH Singapore Branchs WSH annual Conference will present topics with emphasis to construction industry which are presented by renowned overseas and local speakers.

This seminar presents the theoretical background with practical considerations of the direct analysis method of design with examples given on its concept and practical application to complex structures beyond the applicability of the effective length method when the buckling load factor is less than 10 or 5. Experience in using the method for practical design of structures will also be shared
Since the launch of the BCA Green Mark Scheme in Jan 2005, several revisions were made to the Green Mark criteria. To ensure that the industry practitioners remains relevant and up-to-date, this half-day Green Mark Refresher Course is launched to keep industry practitioners abreast with the latest development and update of the Green Mark scheme and related initiatives.

International Conference on Soft Ground Engineering (ICSGE2015) is jointly organized by the Geotechnical Society of Singapore (GeoSS), the Centre for Soft Ground Engineering (CSGE) at National University of Singapore (NUS), and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA). The ICSGE2015 offers a platform for engineers and researchers to interact and share experience on geotechnical design and construction issues in soft ground.
This course aims to let participant understand the principles in computing buildability score. Participant will also learn the types of project affected by buildable design legislation and the minimum scores to comply.Attending this course is also accepted as satisfying the Buildable Design Training requirement for listing with the Public Sector Panels of Consultants (PSPC).

Building Information Modelling (BIM) allows the building professionals of various disciplines to explore the building project digitally, before it is built. BIM can help to bring about greater integration and collaboration among the developers, designers, builders and fabricators across the construction value chain. BIM has been identified as one of the key technologies to be promoted under BCAs S$250-million Construction Productivity and Capability Fund (CPCF), which is part of the Governments efforts to help the construction industry improve productivity and enhance its capability. As such, BCA has drawn up a roadmap for the implementation of BIM on a large scale in the building and construction industry. Starting with architectural BIM e-submissions in 2013, BCA will mandate electronic submissions in BIM format for architectural, structural and M&E plans of building works for regulatory approval by 2015. This 2-Day BIM Planning Course is designed to address BIM uses and approaches for building developers and facility managers.
Singapore Green Building Council

Singapore's 3rd Green Building Masterplan has identified the need to measure the environmental impact of buildings through its carbon footprint. The latest revision to BCA Green Mark 2015 will accord recognition for the reporting of embodied carbon of Building Materials as well as for the Building Project. SGBCs Singapore Green Building Product (SGBP) labelling scheme will also be supporting the BCA Green Mark scheme by including the carbon emissions of building products as a key criterion for assessing the environmental performance of products. Jointly organised by SGBC and BCAs Centre for Sustainable Buildings and Construction (CSBC), the course is specially designed for the Building Industry. It provides an in-depth understanding of the carbon footprint of buildings and the products and materials therein. The course will impart the skills to enable participants to assess the environmental impact of their buildings and products.Delivered through both classroom and hands-on practice, participants will learn robust and reliable methodologies in compliance with international standards to effectively communicate environmental performance of building projects and products.
